The steering box is back together. I've got some after pictures. ordered some 140W gear oil for the box and was told not to use it. Matt at Quarter ton Military in GA. told me to use John Deere Cornhead grease. Paul and I loaded the box with the grease and put the cover back on. Now I need some advice on putting the horn system back together. Do I use the original steel shaft or do I replace it with a wire kit? BTW, I got lucky when I was able to pick up a NOS sector shaft on EBay.

Most folks that have been around farm tractors awhile are familiar with it. It'll do the job. It's also an option for the steering knuckles if they won't tolerate thinner gear lubes (leak very easily).

Steering box is back in and attached to the drag link. there is almost no play in the steering wheel or at the attachment points for the various components, IE:
drag link, bellcrank or tie rods, so that part is great. What's not great is getting the steering wheel(new) seated on the steering worm shaft (also new). No matter what we try, still have about 3/16 to 1/4 inch before the shaft is level with the steering wheel. Any tips on how we can get it seated far enough to get the nut on?
