another question (4 holes in right step)

my 38 has got 4 holes ,1/4 x2 1/2 on the right step? any body know this one .i remeasured and they are 5 1/6 in stead of 1/4. perfect square.

They are for the fuel control valve used with the powerplant heater kit.
