How did they screw that air horn on a WO carb?

The thing had a humongous sheet metal screw in that hole.

Trust me, not the only "what the...." I found on this jeep.

Remember the 2" pipe roll bar welded to the cowl sheet metal
after cutting holes in it? Covered the blowouts with Bondo.

The aftermarket chrome air cleaner was on the passenger side of the firewall
where the cowl box went. Another humongous hole was blown through
the firewall for the air cleaner hose. More sheetmetal screws held the base
of the air cleaner to the firewall.

All I had to repair. See my project pages.

I may have an as found photo of the engine bay on page 1
of my album....

In that case it is obvious that the last hands on that air horn glued the fat screw in the hole just to plug the hole.

Charles,

You are correct. Richard Meagley's Mighty Mo domain is shut down and for sale. It had a good run for many years. However there are several sites that still cary his rebuild info and metering rod tool drawings.

Here is just one: http://www.cj3a.info/tech/meter.html

Also in my M38 fuel system album under WO you can see this:

I have found these add-on posts to very old threads do not do as well for responses as a brand new Technical Question Post will do.
