Thanks Brian. I've seen those and read some reviews that said they were just "deformed" washers --- not actually spring steel. Don't know if true or not, you know how reading "reviews" are. Apparently, once they get cinched down one time they straighten out just like a regular washer and lose the intended clamping ability. Every thing I read about true spring washers says they aren't supposed to do that. Enough to put doubt in my grape anyway..

I don't think the windshield pivot is a super-critical installation, but it would sure be nice to find a reasonable facsimile of the original at a reasonable cost. I'm going to keep looking a bit more. So far the selection at McMaster-Carr looks most promising, even at $1.50 each. Might have to buy 10 to get the two I need.

Hi Ron,
Not sure about the reviews, but if I loosen the bolt you can see the washer deflect into the bow shape. I think it’s either spring steel or tempered after bending during manufacturing. And they are sitting on the shelf.

I love McMaster. But their minimum shipping is horrendous on small orders.

Hey Brian,
Good enough. I'll see if my local store has any. Thanks!

10-4 on McMaster-Carr shipping charges --- ouch. I've noticed it most everywhere though. Regular 1st class postage is pretty reasonable but nobody will use it because they insist on a tracking number (half the time I never get), which I think drives the cost through the roof. That, and many vendors don't seem to mind shipping a lot of dead space in the box -- it costs money to ship air in too big a box. Not much choice but to grin and bear it. :)
