Paint for temporary markings

Post by Harleygaz »

I might want to put temporary hood and unit markings on my Jeep for a parade. What paint can I use that I can remove after the parade without taking off the original paint?

Find some water colors - generally found at hobby stores (Hobby Lobby, Michael's etc.)... stuff the kids would paint with. you can get it in thicker paints and should do for that - then wash it off after the parade...

Have a sign shop make magnetic letters/numbers and stars and reuse them year after year.

If you have a nice sunny day, and only need it for a couple of hours, why not a quick hand-stencil or masking tape job with some sidewalk chalk? Maybe a little Elmer's Glue (water base) mixed in. The average American won't know the difference anyway.....

Or maybe one of those washable big white crayon markers the used car lots and the "just married" folks use to write on their cars? Available at most auto parts stores me thinks.

Outside the box. Good luck!

My apologies Gary, and to any others I may offend with that "just married" crack due to my personal experience....

Marriage is Grand.
Divorce is 500 Grand.

Standing by for admonishment from the Man because this isn't exactly jeep business.

You’ll have to work a lot harder than that to offend me!
