The new right hand thread stud is .050 of an inch shorter in length than the one I am replacing, so not much there. It pressed in smoothly and straight. I took my handy work and put the hub on an M38 wheel to check concentricity and length.
As expected, the stud was just slightly shorter than the existing studs. The threads are just slightly exposed after the lug nut is snugged up.
My question, is this: how did original wheel studs looked after tightening? This stud is about flush with the top of the lug nut. My old aircraft maintenance experience was 2 threads showing on all bolts and studs... Should I be happy with the length or go slightly longer?

Thanks, Jeff
