Has anyone had any recent experience with the MD Juan replacement fuel tanks?
I think these are the only ones available now.
I had gotten a tank for my WW2 jeep about 10 years ago, and it didn't really fit right, but I managed to make it work, so I have posted this on G503 too.
It sits too high in my GPW, and I had to space up the driver seat.
Supposedly they have made some changes since then.
So, I was wondering what the latest feedback on an A1 tank was.
Regards Dave

Look in my photo album: It's the second album in "Member's Albums" then in my sub-album "M38A1 Fuel System".

Then look at our Forum's Board Index and select the M Series Parts Supply & Review, all three pages.

I was at Brent Mullins the other day and he was sorting and storing large wire crates, among them I saw several what I thought were used original tanks for m38 and M38A1. Now I just saw them at a distance and did not ask what they were for.
On my M274A5 mule the original tank had problems and I used a franchise called gas tank renew to clean coat and seal the tank. 10 years out it has maintained without any flaking.
So a used tank might be a good choice.
I have a MD Juan repo tank that I just installed a few months ago in my M38. It sits maybe 1/2 inch higher than the original tank did but I found no real problems that weren't easily cured.
