Fuel Line Transition Steel to Rubber

Post by longld »

Rookie here so be kind....
Replacing entire fuel lines on 53 M38A1 - Have looked on site and in TM but cannot clearly see how you transition from the 3/8 steel connectors to the rubber line at the fuel pump. Is there a connector that I am not aware of or do I just cut the connector off and attach the rubber line directly to the steel line with a clamp?

It really is quite simple. The rubber hose has an integral male pipe thread where it screws into the pump. The other end of the hose has an integral female inverted flare fitting which mates with the 3/8 tubing's integral inverted flare male fitting.

There are no odd adapter fittings involved. In a sense the flex hose itself is the adapter.
