The photos of the Wiring harness (Loom) looks correct for an M-38 with Douglas connectors. Each wire has a tag (number ) on it , compare that to the wiring schematic of the jeep.

The fording pipe you have is actually the front fording pipe and I would not use it as it is very deteriorated and worn. For an M-38 the clamps are wrong. no 90 degree twist in them, and they should all look the same,

You will need to learn how to post photos to get more input on this thread.

Hope this helps...

Yes I must learn "
The rear fording pipe is in side the rubber flex pipe
So regulator to Harness " charge" starter"(loom) is separate .

Thank you " it's good that someone is in control, I will study and spend time
Checking the numbers on the loom (harness )against data on the Goveners albums,I paid $70 for it which in UK money is £50 if it's not ,it's worth that
for the Douglas connections but it looks good so far .The exhaust pipe is in
Side the rubber hose ,I haven't pulled the pipe out yet

Your "fording pipe' is actual both of them. The flex (shot) was the intake "snorkel" one and the metal one inside is the exhaust or "snorter" pipe. The inner one may cleanup.

I have this drawing on my photo page. The measurements might help determine if your wiring loom is correct for the M38.
