My M38A1 has a mostly stock fhead. The fording system is intact but not hooked up to the dash.
I disconnected the vacuum lines and PCV valve to clean everything up but I'm not sure if everything was routed correctly. I specifically would like to know how the PCV should be routed. It comes off of the left side of the block as shown in my pictures.
Ignore my hoses and connectors. They're temporarily in place for photos.
I find your connections lacking in that they are not very original. Odd you would delete the fording valve on the driver's side of the engine and retain the fording valve on the passenger side. At any rate a quick and simple tour thru my F134 engine sub-photo-album should answer routing questions on the stock routing. http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules. ... _album.php
Thanks. It was previously owned and operated by the Riverside county sheriff's department in CA. Everything that has been deleted was removed prior to me getting my hands on it.
For this info the place to be is in your TM 9-8015-1 M38A1 Engine & Clutch Manual. If you do not have these manuals you can very easily open our web site's "Downloads" page and download them free in PDF Format.
You should spend a few minutes reading the pages here that describe how the PCV valve (referred to as vent system metering valve) functions and how it is assembled properly.
Note: Itme G is not used in your setup and is replaced with a short piece of hose.
