I have gone thru the manuals (SNL) and Wes's photo album and have not found good photos of the footman loops used to secure the top side curtains on the M-38A1. There are 3 of these per side for 1" straps.
I have found photos of these both on the ODCLOTH.com website and here on this site in Wilfreeman's gallery Photo 66. The problem is ODcloth shows the loops being on the top of the indent on the side; and the ones from this site show them on the side of the jeep.
So the question is which is correct...
Opinions and comments welcome...

On the top of the indent, the loops on the very top of the sides of the tub are for the tiedown of the doors when folded and stowed.
My photo album for the M38A1 canvas top has 2 pages of figures. This first one is from the TM 9-8014 and is confusing in several ways. First it is numbered incorrectly as Fig 190 when it is actually Fig 184 and second it shows only the two very top edge loops used for tying down the folded doors.

To a certain extent this is understandable since the M38A1 is purported to not leave Willys with side curtain tie down loops. They are added in the field with the side curtain kit.
The very next TM 9-8014 Fig 185 shows the three on the ledge just below the top edge of the tub.

The following figures are from the M38A1 side curtain/door addition kit.
This parts list shows 6 loops (3 per side)

You have to look closely and read the instructions carefully but these loops are installed on the ledge and not at the very top of the tub.

Thanks Wes, answered the question... Trying to be correct here...
Just wish the first Drawing was better, left out the locations of the loops on the lip... Will have to wait for the top to come in...
