1 steel rim m38

Post by CoastieReid »

Looking for a spare rim for my m38. Just the rim.

I will be at sea for next two weeks and can’t log on here often. Be back home the 24th of July.

Willing to pay for shipping to Virginia too.

Thanks.

Hi Coastie,
I've got one, but has one lug hole damaged. It was on my M38 when I bought it and looks to me like somebody along the line had to cut off a lug nut and mangled the job a bit. Can't hardly see it with a lug-nut over it. Am guessing it could be repaired with some welding and the correct angle countersink or a steady hand with a round file. I was also going to use it for the spare, but lucked across an undamaged one to make my set of 5 complete. I've never had the tire dismounted but believe the inside is as good as the outside.

I'd need a few days to run it to the local tire shop to get dismounted, let me know if you're interested for $75. I ran the USPS shipping estimator from me to Norfolk and it looks like about $40. If you can talk your Captain into pulling that Cutter into Charleston harbor I could hand it to you. :D

Lol I’ll take it! I can fix that cut mark, and it is for my spare tire!

So- I flew to San Juan or today, got there and emailed my XO... he immediately called me from the ships sat phone and said that the ship isn’t coming here no more cause we blew an oil pump on a main engine.
I just had to get a hotel for tonight and get new flight from San Juan to key west to meet them in a few days so we can fix the engine.

It’s a true planes trains and automobiles scenario this week. Still plan on getting home to Portsmouth on time.

I Will send you a apM with address.

I can Venmo, PayPal, check or cash!

Thanks!!

Hi Coastie,
Thanks, and PM at your convenience!

I'll get my tire dismounted in the next day or two.

And good luck with that big engine!

Hey Coastie,
I got my tire swapped to my rim and yours is packed and ready to ship.

Let me know when you get home and I'll launch it.
