convert to civil spark plugs and wires

Post by ktm25089 »

i have fisished this conversion. The goal was to keep the distributor original and if i want to go back to military for a show etc to make it reversible quick.
so here are the proccess.
first you have to sacrofice 2 good military spark plug wires. No worry about the length. You will keep only the ends

you have to remove from the original wire this threaded end carefully and solder it to the new wires

and then add the silicone end and spring to the new wire.I have to add and a piece of heat-shrink between the military bron silicone and the black civilian wire to seal it.But i didnt have.later.....

Very innovative and also a lesson on how to repair the
Military ends.

This is one of the simplist ways to adapt the military distributor to the modern un-shielded spark plug. Good choice Ron. I had almost forgotten this post.

Nice, but remove that plastic fuelfilter in the pressure side before the carburator, put it before the fuelpump for safety.
