TM9-8015-1 Clarification

Post by cobra5 »

I have an engine with an oil pump that was installed 180 out by the previous owner during rebuild. Finally getting around to correcting this problem. On page 117, step g. of the manual, it states to coat the threads of the cap screws with plastic type sealant. What type of sealant are they describing? The only thread sealant I know is the type that one uses on bolts that go into a blocks water jacket. Is this what I'm suppose to use or is there some other type?

Yes. Silicon sealants or gasket sealer will work.
