Good Day Everyone
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your space
Here.
First off I have a question about my M38
It is a very early 1950 M38 mostly original survivor.
I know ww2 hood numbers for Jeep were usually 20 for quarter ton Recon.
Does anyone know why they used 23 on mine in 1950.
Hood numbers 20 prefix VS. 23 prefix

20XXXXXX is the beginning of a series. 20 thru 29 are all part of the 20 series. Here's a copy of 2 pages of AR 850-10 which was our modern 1946 rule of registration # assignment.
