M-38A1 Fording Cable Routing...

I am running all the control cables and starting on the wiring harnesses for my M-38A1. I have run into a problem; the fording control cable. The side that goes to the crossover pipe to at the carb is about 2 inches too short. An I am not sure of where the bracket for the cable that goes to the PVC valve goes or what it looks like.
I have been going thru the manuals and Wes' photo gallery and I am sure I have the cables going thru the firewall correctly, but cannot get them to a point to secure them.
Any assistance would be appreciated...
