My M38, (all stock, 24v, YS carb) has two issues.
1) I have to prime the carb to start it if it sits for more than a few hours. There is fuel in the bowl and I cant find any cracks or leaks. It starts right up once primed, otherwise just cranks. The carb has been professionally rebuilt 3 times at this point and the fuel pump is new from Midwest Mil.
2) After I drive for 15mins or so, if I come to a stop sign or slow to make a turn, the engine cuts off. Sometimes it starts back up and sometimes I have to use the choke or let it sit for a few minutes. Ive done the fuel line rerouting away from the manifold, the heat riser work fine, the PVC valve is correctly installed and the idle screw is out 1 1/4 turns.
One other thing. The transmission is exceptionally loud. It doesn't whine or squeal, it sounds like its really straining, like an over revved engine, if that makes sense. All kinds of metal pinging and clattering noises from underneath. Ive checked all the body bolts and exhaust pipe for any slack but all good. Or maybe the sound is normal and Im not used to it. I will see if I can post a youtube video.
Thank you for any insights.

Re: Engine cuts off
Your question creates several new questions:
1 - What type of carb priming are you doing?
2 - What was your fuel delivery pressure reading when you tested for pump output?
3 - Who rebuilt the carb?
4 - How did you determine the carb's bowl had adequate fuel in it?
5 - Have you tried starting and running the jeep with the fuel tank cap off?
6 - Have you performed a leak down (static) compression check on all four cylinders?
7 - Have you confirmed valve and ignition timing are correct?
8 - Exactly which model carb and fuel pump are you using?
