interesting book about WWII
I know this is before the M series vechicles but I found this book a few weeks ago in Books A Million and thought it was very good. It gives a lot of information about industrial production, oil supplies and its effect on the armies, logistics of delievering the people, ammunition, fuel, etc. to the battles, and a lot of info on strategy and political considerations. A fair amount of numbers and tables to quantify the data. It's made up of a lot of tidbits of information so it is easy to pick up and brouse through. It is "Dirty Little Secrets of World War II" by James F. Dunnigan. The title is not so good because there are no secrets just a lot of stuff that people rarely talk about. For example, who had a better chance of survival, a marine in the South Pacific or a bomber crewman over Europe? The book tells you.
