No air filter

Post by hahnda »

Ok, here's my first question. my '52 M38A1 has no air filter on it. The carb has been replaced with the civvie model and the someone decided it didn't need an air filter on it anymore I guess. Anyway I would like to run some sort of filter on there. And judging by the posts here so far you guys are really into originality. Right at the moment I'm not so much into originality as I am just having fun driving it around. The possible restoration comes later when I have a few less projects on my plate.

So does anybody know of something that I can fit on there that will work for the time being? I've looked at other pics and my carb also looks to be missing the elbow fitting on the carb. If that was there I think I would just find a cone type filter to fit it?

Hi Kevin. Look at some pictures I posted at http://www.deltaforce.net/~amnon/m38a1/ the one I got has the same civvy carb, and military air cleaner. I don't know if the tube is military, civvy, or just something from another car, but it works fine.
