Other Hobby Interfering with Jeep...

Post by OKCM38CDN »

Well I lost a weekend working on the jeep, my other hobby got in the way... :)

My wife wanted another antenna put up and so had to spend the day doing that...

The tower is 48 feet tall and I have antennas that will allow me to talk literally around the world...

I am the large fellow at the top attaching antennas to mast, my son is below handling the comealong to lift the mast up after I attach the antennas. it is hard to see in the photo, but there are three antennas there: one 15 ft long and 3 ft wide - 13 elements... the next is 20 ft long 6 feet wide with 6 elements, and the last and biggest is 18 ft long and 40 ft wide with 8 elements...

We have to use a comealong due to the whole thing is about 300 punds with mast and all the antennas on it...

Those of you that are ham radio operators and may want further information drop me an email and I will elaborate further... I will be active the second week of September participating in an event celebrating Route 66, using the call W6K...

Enjoy the pictures... Jeep work next week...

HAl,

That's cool!

Looks like a ways up.

I have not worked on my jeep for several weeks. I need to get back on it. All this heat as worn me out. The summers are long down here.

I finally finished the rotessorie. It turned out to be a bigger project than I started out to build ( as usuall), but I have some adjustments available so that I could mount a mustang or other vehicle. (always thinking about that next project!)
