1964 Apollo

Post by whydahdvr »

In the vein of car restorations I had mentioned a car we've had for 40+ years that we've gone through a few restorations on. There was some interest so I uploaded a few recent pictures of the car.

American/Italian. The body was designed by Ron Plescia at Intermeccanica. The engine is a Buick 300 cu. in and the transmission is a Borg-Warner.

Very similar lines to my 1971 MGB GT. Makes me think that MG may have done some style borrowing.

Fastback's were big, very popular, in the 1960's-70's - from what I've read and seen. This car's body was designed and came out around the same time as the new Jaguar XKE and Ferrari, which were big influences on the first Apollo's body shape.
Thanks for the interest!
