Why do we do these things...

Post by Phil4280 »

Well as if I don't have enough things on my plate...

I just got myself a cica 1955 Mk1 Ferret scout car. Came with a NOS crated engine, NOS gear box, NOS planetry drives, set of NOS 900x16 RF tires on rims and a small trailer load of NOS parts and nick nacks.

However work on it will have to wait untill the jeep gets completed!

You could sit in front of the TV and drink yourself to death with pop, or other bad stuff, or build machines that teach you about history, learn new techniques for repair, and meet new friends, go to meets, drive around and have fun, have people at the parking lot study in amazement, pull your buddy out of the ditch, show your vehicle at parades, vet's day, car shows, participate in a club, and last of all keep vendors in business. 8O John

Isn't it funny how one is never enough? I am barely finished one project and have one lined up and already looking for another....

Its certainly a subtle disease. I was actually contemplating buying a second old jeep just for parts. I am fairly certain once that jeep was gutted I'd have found some perfectly good valid reason to start a restoration on it......and....being in need of parts.....I'd go looking for another parts jeep.....and before you know it.....you're setting up a jeep restoration parts store on epay and dealing with foreign parts reproduction people. Luckily, I must have retained some immunity from rebuilding old tractors over the years cause I managed to come to my senses and buy only those new parts I could almost afford and sorta kind just liked to have. Seriously.....its really not all that bad of a disease to contract.....it runs its course so very slowly (like I can't believe I've been workin on this thing for five years!!!).....and all it breaks is your wallet!!!
