new jeep owner

Hello from the UK
Bought my first jeep - sold my land rover to buy it !

1951 M38
Complete except wrong engine - has a Datsun pickup 1500cc in it
Have been offered a 1962 CJ engine but not sure if it will fit
I will post some pics soon
Trying to learn about it before doing too much
It has a new hood plus new Windscreen and seats

You will find this a good place for learning and fellowship.

If I may make a suggestion, put your hometown on your profile. One of the other inmates here may be near to you and you not know it. Always good to have another pair of eyes and hands nearby.

The 1962 year for jeep still included the L134 and the F134. The L134 is correct for your M38. The F134 can be made to fit by using a Ford Motorcraft carb for the Pinto engine. since it will clear the hood.
