Hi
I have an M606A1 (CJ5M)with a 10 Gallon capacity, I need to fit a bigger tank like the M38A1, if I do will this fit without having to alter the filling spout and bodywork, I have the correct seats so the tank will fit underneath any ideas please.

Mark,

It may work, but the only way to know for sure is to try to fit it.

Someone else here may have experience with this one.

Hope this helps. Shocked

Does your M606 have the extended bottom well for the oversized (deep bottom) M38A1 tank?

There's a commercially available right hand under the passenger seat tank available for the short CJ5.

If you remove the under seat tool box and install a modified CJ5 tank (relocated filler pipe or under the seat filler like the MB) there it will work. You can plumb them together, paralel or through a tank selector valve. Do you have repop 201 tanks available on your side of the pond? You could have a welder cut the bottom well section out. Or perhaps you could get a M38A1 driver's floor with the well and install it on the driver's side.
